Te Ara Whakamana: Mana Enhancement Online Community of Practice - an Evolution of Knowledge

This is an exclusive forum available only to those trained in Te Ara Whakamana: Mana Enhancement. Please contact us for further information on how to join the Te Ara Whakamana: Mana Enhancement Online Community of Practice.

Te Ara Whakamana: The Mana Enhancement Community of Practice occurs when a number of agencies and individuals trained in Te Ara Whakamana: Mana Enhancement are able to share their knowledge, insights, experiences, innovations and breakthroughs in a collective strengths based approach to the people they are working with and for.

Through the construction and sharing of Te Ara Whakamana: Mana Enhancement stories, users are able to come to understand far more about how to support behaviour change than working in isolation could provide. Learning is situated in the context of problem solving when agencies and organisations such as police, education and social services are working together using a common language that is accessible and understood by the individuals and their whānau. This whānau approach has the capacity to unite and strengthen whole communities.

Questions, requests for information and feedback are welcome in this forum, as we work to support one another in our practice.

Case Studies
The diverse applications of Te Ara Whakamana: Mana Enhancement provide examples of successful interventions in many situations where a behaviour change plan is desired. We invite those with experience in working with people on the autistic spectrum, with intellectual and physical disabilities, in rehabilitation, dealing with domestic violence, sexual violence, suicide and self harm, with people on probation and recidivist offenders, with families and whole of whānau and more, to contribute to the 'growth model' approach of Te Ara Whakamana: Mana Enhancement. This sharing of collective skills and knowledge creates an environment of continuous and dynamic mana enhancing approaches.

All case studies presented in this forum are only visible to registered Te Ara Whakamana: Mana Enhancement Community of Practice members, and are carefully screened so as not to identify individuals and their families.
